The documentary closely observes the figure of the barman, the sometimes-spectacular way in which he prepares cocktails, the different types of ingredients, from the most common to the most sought-after, but also the meticulous care for the presentation and experimentation of new combinations. To make a cocktail, the barman must know all the elements that make it up and in what percentage and must know how to mix them perfectly. An important aspect of the profession is the stage presence: professional barmen have the ability to make cocktails by performing extremely rapid and choreographic technical gestures; in particular, the spectacularization of the barman’s working technique – known as “flair bartending” – provides acrobatic movements similar to those of jugglers. The documentary also explores the background of this fascinating profession. From sight to taste, the bartender must know how to capture and satisfy the customer.
